Parallel Circles, the indie team behind Flat Heroes, has announced that its high-energy VR rhythm game Beat the Beats is expanding its reach. Following its debut on PlayStation VR2, the game will punch its way onto Meta Quest, SteamVR, and Pico 4 headsets on April 2.
The launch will coincide with a free PlayStation VR2 update, adding 15 new songs and two fresh game modes to keep the experience lively for returning players.
Described by IGN Spain as “a fantastic mix of boxing and rhythm,” Beat the Beats fuses musical timing with real boxing techniques. Players can throw authentic punches—jabs, crosses, hooks, and uppercuts—to the beat of more than 45 electronic tracks spread across 90+ arcade-style levels. The gameplay promises both a workout and a groove, encouraging players to “beat the beats” while climbing online leaderboards and tackling daily challenges.

For the most dedicated rhythm fighters, each track also includes an extra-tough “B-Side” version, along with new gameplay modes like Hit Impact and Hit Speed that test strength and precision.
On the pricing front, Quest and Pico users can grab Beat the Beats at a launch price of $12.99, which includes 30 tracks. Optional DLC albums—Energy, Recall, and Dubstep—add five songs each for $2.99 apiece or come bundled as the Power Pack for $6.99. The SteamVR and PS VR2 versions include all three DLC albums by default for $19.99.

If you’re curious to try before you buy, free demos are now available on Quest, SteamVR, and PlayStation VR2.
Beat the Beats is developed by Parallel Circles, a UK- and Spain-based indie studio formed by ex-AAA developers known for their minimalist but highly polished design. Their past work includes Flat Heroes and the Xbox port of CloverPit.
