Martin Rumenov Buffalo Buffalo’s cozy VR birdwatching adventure, Birdseed VR, is officially spreading its wings with the launch of version 1.0 in March 2026, the studio announced from Vancouver, British Columbia. The long-awaited full release brings exciting new features, including online co-op multiplayer, fresh bird species, and a brand-new premium customization shop.
Birdseed VR has steadily built a reputation as one of VR’s most relaxing escapes, offering players the chance to explore lush forests, snap photos of curious birds, and unwind in nature from the comfort of their headsets. The upcoming 1.0 release takes that experience to a new level with the debut of Online Co-op Mode—letting friends team up to capture photos, complete daily challenges together, or simply enjoy each other’s company in the virtual wild.
One of the biggest additions is Scout’s Shop, a premium in-game store filled with aesthetic items like camera skins, lens charms, and other ways to personalize your birdwatching gear. Buffalo Buffalo made it clear, however, that Birdseed VR will remain gameplay-fair, assuring that paid cosmetics are entirely optional and do not affect progression or performance.
Other upgrades coming in version 1.0 include:
- Multiplayer co-op – Team up and photograph rare birds with friends.
- Premium Store – Customize your camera setup with stylish skins and accessories.
- New lenses – Capture distant flocks using the new telephoto lens.
- Seasonal events – Look forward to rotating seasonal challenges and limited-edition cosmetics.

Players can experience Birdseed VR now in Early Access on Quest 3, ahead of the full 1.0 release in March.
