Buffalo Buffalo has released the first major update for Birdseed VR following its full launch, delivering fresh content alongside meaningful gameplay improvements. The update introduces new bird species, expands progression rewards, and enhances accessibility for seated players.
New Birds Arrive in Field Guide 6
The highlight of the update is the addition of five tropical and warm-weather bird species, now available through Field Guide 6. Players can discover and interact with the Toucan, Macaw, Hornbill, Lavender Waxbill, and Curl-Crested Jay, bringing more variety to the game’s ecosystem and encouraging exploration.
Trail Pass Rewards Expanded
Progression has been improved through updates to the Trail Pass system. Weekly stamp rewards now include premium items, offering players greater incentives to stay active and consistently engage with the game.
Improved Controls for Seated Play
A new snap turn feature has been introduced to improve comfort and accessibility. Players can now rotate using the left joystick, making seated gameplay smoother and more convenient—particularly useful for extended VR sessions.

Bug Fixes and Stability Improvements
The update also addresses several technical issues reported by players. Fixes include resolving problems with the daily bird pool not refreshing correctly and ensuring bird behaviors unlock as intended, along with additional general stability improvements.
Availability
Birdseed VR is currently free-to-play on Meta Quest 3 and 3S, with a SteamVR release expected soon. The update marks an important step in the game’s ongoing development as Buffalo Buffalo continues to expand its immersive VR experience.
