Clone Drone in the Hyperdome, the virtual reality sequel to the 2021 game Clone Drone in the Danger Zone, has officially launched. Available for $19.99 on Meta Quest 2 and 3, as well as on PC via Steam, this game invites players into an exhilarating world of combat against deadly robots.

In this latest installment, players embody Blink, a teleporting robot who joins the ranks of “looprunner” gladiators in a perilous combat sport known as Crashloop. The gameplay revolves around an endless cycle of death and resurrection, where players must defeat their fellow looprunners to earn the opportunity to challenge the Captain in the Hyperdome.

Game Features

  • Dynamic Combat Mechanics: Players engage in intense sword fights with robotic adversaries in a thrilling VR tournament setting. The game’s voxel-based destruction allows for precise targeting, enabling players to slice through enemy limbs and bodies with accuracy.
  • Diverse Weaponry: Inside Crashloop, players can select from a variety of weapons including swords, scythes, axes, and shields. Each looprunner possesses unique weapon abilities known as “turbofists,” which can be acquired by defeating them during matches.
  • Combat Relationships: After each battle, players return to a loading room where they encounter the same opponents they just fought. Decisions made during combat influence relationships with these characters, adding depth to the gameplay.
  • Roguelike Elements: The game features a roguelike tournament format where each run presents new challenges and environments. Players must emerge as the last survivor to progress to face the Captain.
  • Innovative VR Experience: Built on the success of its predecessor, Clone Drone in the Hyperdome leverages advanced physics for sword combat and interactions, ensuring an immersive experience tailored for VR gaming.

About Doborog

Doborog is an indie game development company known for creating innovative and engaging games. Their most notable creation is “Clone Drone in the Danger Zone,” a third-person sword-fighting game where players control robot gladiators and can have any part of their body sliced off. The company has recently expanded into virtual reality (VR) gaming with the development of “Clone Drone in the Hyperdome,” a new VR game that offers an immersive sword-slicing experience in a roguelike tournament setting.

Founded by Erik Rydeman, who describes himself as an indie developer and Twitch streamer, Doborog has established itself as a creative force in the gaming industry. While the company initially focused on traditional PC games, their venture into VR demonstrates their adaptability and commitment to exploring new technologies in game development.

Doborog’s approach to game design often includes elements of humor and unique gameplay mechanics, as evidenced by their earlier project “Long Live Santa!” which features a quirky premise of bearded men fighting to become the next Santa Claus.
