Gamitronics and Evolution Publishing’s VR darts simulator leaves Early Access on September 8, adding expanded progression and competitive League tournaments with real-world prizes.

Darts VR2: Bullseye will officially launch version 1.0 on September 8, 2026, bringing its virtual-reality take on competitive darts to Meta Quest, PlayStation VR2 and SteamVR. Developed by Gamitronics and published by Evolution Publishing, the game has been in Early Access since April and is positioned as a physics-driven darts experience for both serious players and casual VR fans.

Available for Meta Quest 2, Quest 3 and Quest 3S, PSVR 2, and PCVR via Steam, Darts VR2: Bullseye is priced at £12.99 / $14.99 / €13.99.

Realistic Darts Without Aim Assist

The key focus of Darts VR2: Bullseye is throwing precision. Rather than relying on aim assistance or simplified controls, the game uses realistic dart physics, meaning every shot depends on a player’s motion, release and accuracy.

That approach is designed to make scoring combinations such as a triple 20 or double 15 feel earned. Players will need to develop consistency at the virtual oche, whether they are practising alone, competing against others or taking part in the game’s upcoming structured tournaments.

Darts VR2: Bullseye multiple modes

Multiple Modes Beyond 501

Classic 501 is at the centre of the package, allowing players to chase big scores and work their way down to a finishing double. However, the game also includes several alternative modes aimed at making the format more accessible and varied.

  • Zombies turns darts into an arcade-style survival challenge, tasking players with taking down waves of undead enemies. Explosive darts can be used to clear larger groups.
  • Killstreak rewards players for repeatedly landing darts on the same number. As streaks build, the dartboard becomes increasingly chaotic, moving, rotating and even catching fire.
  • Around the World offers a more relaxed, solo-focused alternative, with players progressing across the board in a distraction-free setting enhanced by stylised visual effects.
  • Party Mode adds another option for social sessions, while both single-player and multiplayer support are included across the wider game.

The mix aims to bridge the gap between a simulator for dart enthusiasts and a party-friendly VR game that can be enjoyed in shorter sessions.

League Mode Brings Esports Competition

One of the headline additions in the 1.0 update is League mode, a competitive system developed and refined through community testing. The feature will allow players to enter weekly, monthly and seasonal events, with prizes ranging from exclusive in-game cosmetics to gift cards for PlayStation, Meta Quest and Amazon stores.

European League matches are scheduled to begin on September 10, followed by North American competition on September 11. Each nightly event will accommodate 16 players, with the top three advancing to monthly semi-finals.

The broader format will culminate in grand finals at the end of every three-month season, giving committed players a longer-term competitive ladder to climb. Gamitronics and Evolution Publishing plan to share entry requirements and further League details through the game’s social-media channels.

Darts VR2: Bullseye progression, rewards and challenges

Progression, Rewards and Challenges

Alongside competitive play, version 1.0 will expand the game’s XP progression system. Players can level up through play and unlock additional rewards, while achievement challenges offer more goals for those looking to test their accuracy and consistency.

Evolution Publishing CEO Kevin Joyce described the full launch as a major milestone following the game’s April Early Access debut. He also pointed to League mode as a central part of the title’s plans going forward, suggesting that the competitive framework will remain a core focus after release.

For VR players who enjoy sports simulations but want more than a straightforward recreation of the real-world game, Darts VR2: Bullseye combines traditional scoring formats with zombie battles, arcade modifiers and a developing esports structure. Its full release arrives on September 8, 2026.
