Resolution Games and Wizards of the Coast have launched Demeo x DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: Battlemarked, a co-op, turn-based tactical RPG that drops players directly into the world of the Forgotten Realms. Designed to feel like a modern, virtual tabletop session, the game supports 1–4 players and emphasizes quick-to-learn combat, tactical decision-making, and accessible storytelling whether you play on flat screen or in VR.
A virtual tabletop set in the Forgotten Realms
Battlemarked transports adventurers to classic D&D locales such as Neverwinter Wood, Mount Hotenow, Icewind Dale, and the icy stronghold of Frost Keep, with narrative hooks that echo traditional pen-and-paper campaigns. Built on an evolved version of the Demeo Action Roleplaying System, each run is structured as a compact, replayable quest where positioning, card-like abilities, and party coordination determine whether the group survives the dungeon.

In creating Battlemarked, Resolution Games and Wizards of the Coast set out to capture the feeling of friends gathered around a table, making tough calls together against familiar monsters and in legendary locations, but streamlined for digital play. The result is a “DM-less” experience that focuses on tactical cooperation and group discussion, rather than heavy improvisational roleplay, making it approachable for newcomers without losing the fantasy flavor D&D is known for.

Heroes, classes, and persistent progression
At launch, players can choose from six classic D&D archetypes: Paladin, Sorcerer, Ranger, Rogue, Fighter, and Bard, each bringing distinct abilities and upgrade paths that reward repeated play. Unlike many roguelike-inspired dungeon crawlers that reset characters at the end of a run, Battlemarked tracks progression over time, allowing heroes to level up, raise their ability scores, and gradually sharpen their builds.
Resolution Games expects the two launch campaigns to offer more than a dozen hours of strategic gameplay, with sessions that are short enough for pick-up-and-play but deep enough to experiment with different party compositions and tactics. The design aims to make it easy for a group to hop in for a quick quest while still feeling like a long-term campaign where your party’s story and power grow from dungeon to dungeon.
Dual campaigns: Embers of Chaos and Crown of Frost
Battlemarked ships with two fully fledged story campaigns available from day one. “Embers of Chaos” sends players to investigate a goblin plot in Neverwinter Wood before delving beneath Mount Hotenow into fiery caverns, mixing forest skirmishes with volcanic dungeon crawls.

“Crown of Frost” shifts the tone to survival in the frozen north, as your party confronts a looming frost giant threat in Icewind Dale on a journey that stretches from Ten Towns to the forbidding halls of Frost Keep. Along the way, the party faces cold-adapted creatures like dire wolves and encounters a mix of allies and enemies among giants, ravens, goblins, kobolds, and more.
