Resolution Games has rolled out a substantial Warlock Update for Demeo x DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: Battlemarked, expanding the co-op tactical RPG with a new hero class, fresh endgame content, broader language support, and a sweeping overhaul of its hireling system.
New Warlock Hero and Side Quest
Azruss Drevontir, a human Warlock fuelled by infernal pacts, is now a fully playable hero in Battlemarked. Built around risk–reward gameplay, his class-focused deck channels powerful pact-bound magic, battlefield control tools, and explosive damage that pays off for parties willing to coordinate carefully.
Players can permanently unlock Azruss by completing a dedicated frozen north side quest in the game’s second campaign, after which he becomes available across future runs and campaigns. The Warlock is the first post-launch hero added to Battlemarked, further diversifying party compositions within its turn-based D&D-inspired encounters.
“Auril’s Cradle” One Shot Challenge
The update also adds Auril’s Cradle, a brutal One Shot adventure forged in the icy reaches of the Crown of Frost campaign. Once players have advanced far enough to unlock Ythryn in that second campaign, clearing Auril’s Cradle there makes it available as a standalone One Shot for repeat runs.
Launched without selectable difficulty tiers, Auril’s Cradle is positioned as one of Battlemarked’s harsher tests, emphasizing tight tactical play and party synergy. Resolution Games plans to introduce additional difficulty options in a later patch, but even in its initial form, shifting enemy threats and scenario layouts are designed to keep the snowy gauntlet highly replayable.
Expanded Language Support
To make it easier for groups worldwide to dive into the D&D universe together, the Warlock Update broadens Battlemarked’s localization. The game now supports Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese, extending full interface and text support to more of its global audience.
This expanded language lineup complements the title’s existing cross-play features, which already let up to four players team up seamlessly across Steam, PlayStation 5, and Meta Quest.

Hirelings Removed in Phase 2 Redesign
Responding directly to community feedback, Resolution Games has completed Phase 2 of its hireling system overhaul by removing hirelings entirely from multiplayer. From now on, every character at the table must be a player-created hero, eliminating AI-controlled companions from co-op sessions.
According to the studio, this shift is meant to sharpen Battlemarked’s cooperative focus by ensuring that every action on the board comes from a real teammate, reinforcing strategic communication and shared decision-making.
Availability and Platforms
Demeo x DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: Battlemarked, built on the Demeo Action Roleplaying System, launched in November 2025 as a fast-paced, story-driven tactics experience within the D&D universe. The game is available for $29.99 USD on Steam (PC, Mac, with PCVR support), PlayStation 5 (including PS VR2), and Meta Quest, with free access to ongoing updates like the Warlock patch for all existing owners.
