Dreams of Another: First PS VR2 Gameplay Unveiled

Kyoto-based developer Q-Games has showcased the debut gameplay footage of Dreams of Another for PlayStation VR2, offering a first look at its innovative blend of art and interactivity. Created by multimedia artist Baiyon—renowned for his work on PixelJunk Eden—this upcoming title is set to launch in 2025 for PlayStation 5, PS VR2, and Steam.

A New Take on Creation and Destruction

At the heart of Dreams of Another is the philosophical concept, “No Creation Without Destruction.” Departing from the conventions of typical third-person shooters, the game introduces a unique mechanic: instead of using weapons to destroy, players shoot to materialize and build the world around them. Each action shapes the environment, inviting players to rethink the relationship between creation and destruction.

A Dreamworld Rendered in Particles

Dreams of Another VR features

The game’s striking visuals are powered by point cloud rendering technology, presenting the world as a shimmering expanse of particles. This effect is especially immersive in the PS VR2 version, where players can experience the sensation of their own form dissolving into the dreamlike landscape.

Dreams of Another supports both third-person and first-person perspectives in VR, letting players choose how they wish to explore its ethereal environments. More details about these features are available on the Official PlayStation Blog.
