Drop Dead: The Cabin is expanding to PlayStation VR2, bringing its four-player survival-horror action to Sony’s headset with platform-specific features including adaptive triggers, headset haptics, eye-tracked rendering, improved textures, and Trophy support.
Developed by Soul Assembly and adapted for PS VR2 by Flat2VR Studios, Drop Dead: The Cabin puts players in a remote woodland cabin that quickly becomes far more dangerous than it first appears. The building sits near the experimental grounds of the unhinged Dr. Monday, whose creations have turned the area into a hostile nightmare filled with mutated enemies and overwhelming undead-style hordes.
The PS VR2 version launches on September 10, 2026, priced at $19.99 USD.
A Fight for Survival
The game blends first-person shooting, physical melee combat, scavenging, and survival management. Players must search the cabin and its surroundings for firearms, ammunition, fuel, and other vital supplies while ensuring the location’s essential systems remain operational.
Resources are limited, and every run can demand a different approach. Survivors can use Research Points earned from eliminating enemies to unlock extra gear, new locations, and additional supplies. While dying can end a particular attempt, persistent progression gives players a better chance of surviving future runs.
The pressure comes from more than simply shooting monsters. Players need to decide when to explore, when to conserve ammunition, and when to return to defend the cabin as enemies close in from every direction.

Four-Player Online Co-Op
Up to four players can take on the horrors of Dr. Monday’s experiments through online co-op. Teams can split up to gather supplies more efficiently, although staying together may be the safer option once the horde begins to surround the cabin.
Each player can take on a different role during a match, whether that means handling firearms, fighting at close range, searching for fuel, repairing important systems, or helping revive teammates under pressure. The combination of teamwork, randomized survival challenges, and resource scarcity is designed to make every escape attempt feel tense.
The game also leans heavily into the tone of classic 1980s creature horror. Dark forests, eerie science experiments, synth-inspired action, and deliberately over-the-top monsters give Drop Dead: The Cabin a pulpy horror atmosphere rather than a purely grim one.

From Unlock the Vault to PS VR2
Drop Dead: The Cabin was previously revealed through Flat2VR Studios’ “Unlock the Vault” initiative during the VR Games Showcase. The project marks another effort by the studio to bring established games and VR experiences to new hardware with features tailored around the strengths of each platform.
Soul Assembly, the original developer, is known for several VR-focused releases, including Drop Dead: Dual Strike, Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sister, Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade, and Just Dance VR, which it developed in collaboration with Ubisoft.
For PS VR2 owners looking for a co-op horror game built around frantic defense, scavenging, and replayable runs, Drop Dead: The Cabin arrives just in time to turn an isolated cabin in the woods into a full-scale survival nightmare.
