Martin Rumenov Adventurers and fantasy enthusiasts have reason to celebrate as Resolution Games, in partnership with Wizards of the Coast (a Hasbro company), unveils the highly anticipated debut gameplay for Demeo x DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: Battlemarked. The new video not only showcases the lush, mysterious Neverwinter Wood setting but also offers a first look at the game’s action-packed combat and immersive storytelling.
A New Era for Demeo: Story Meets Strategy
In a statement, Tommy Palm, founder and CEO of Resolution Games, explained the evolution of their approach:
“While Demeo has always been recognized for its tactical depth, Battlemarked brings a much stronger focus on narrative and player choice. Our goal was to blend the excitement of D&D’s legendary storytelling with Demeo’s signature gameplay. Players can look forward to cinematic cutscenes, deeper conversations, and meaningful decisions that shape their adventure.”
Legendary Narrative Leadership
To ensure authenticity and depth, Resolution Games has enlisted Matt Sernett—a veteran D&D designer and narrative expert—as the project’s narrative lead. Sernett’s impressive resume includes work on classic D&D tabletop adventures and iconic video games such as Baldur’s Gate, Baldur’s Gate II, and Icewind Dale, as well as contributions to Destiny 2.
Sernett shared his vision for the game:
“Neverwinter Wood is a legendary starting point for many D&D players, and it felt like the perfect place to launch Battlemarked. We’re bringing players to beloved locations like Cragmaw Castle and Mount Hotenow, where the world itself is as much a character as the heroes. We’re excited for players to experience both the dangers and the wonders of this rich, interactive universe.”
Platform Availability and What’s Next
Demeo x DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: Battlemarked is set to launch in late 2025 and is now available for wishlisting on PlayStation, Steam, and Meta Horizon Store. The game will be playable on Steam and PlayStation 5, with VR support for PlayStation VR2, Steam VR, and the Meta Quest 3 line (including Quest 2 compatibility). Additional platforms and the specifics of the launch date, as well as details about the second adventure included at launch, will be revealed later this year.
Resolution Games will also release a series of developer diaries, offering behind-the-scenes insights into the game’s world, narrative, and how core D&D elements have been adapted for the Demeo system.
