Major Update Takes Flight

Buffalo Buffalo has rolled out the second major Early Access update for cozy birdwatching sim Birdseed VR, dubbed the Early Bird Update, introducing new gear, quality-of-life systems, and supporter bundles for dedicated players. The patch is now live on Meta Quest 3/3S and sets the stage for the game’s full 1.0 launch later this year.

New Telephoto Lens And Gear Management

Birdseed VR exclusive Founder Bundles

The Early Bird Update debuts Birdseed VR’s first telephoto lens, letting players spend earned bottlecaps to upgrade their kit and capture sharper shots of distant birds. The Journal now features a Backpack tab and an Equipment Store, giving birders a dedicated space to store, sort, and filter lenses and future tools as the game expands.

Early Bird Bundles And Founder Rewards

Alongside the gameplay tweaks, Buffalo Buffalo is launching Early Bird Bundles that let fans become official Founders and support ongoing development while securing exclusive cosmetics. These packs offer items like special camera skins, multiplayer profile banners and badges, unique camera charms, in‑game currency, expanded photo storage, and extra radio tracks, with at least one bundle available completely free as a thank-you to Early Access players.

Free Matcha Green Skin For Early Players

Early adopters can claim a limited-time free Early Bird Bundle that unlocks the Matcha Green camera skin immediately, marking their status as early supporters. The Matcha Green style will return later in the premium store after the 1.0 launch, but this window gives current players the only chance to grab it as a non-premium reward.

Looking Ahead To Full Launch

The Early Bird Update also folds in challenge system adjustments, bug fixes, and, naturally, more birds to discover in the forest. With a full release window targeted for March 2026 and co-op, seasonal events, and a larger bird roster on the horizon, Birdseed VR’s latest patch is designed to help players gear up and show off before the game exits Early Access.
