Combat Waffles Studios, a game developer founded in 2022, has unveiled a significant update for their popular VR first-person shooter (FPS) survival game, Ghosts of Tabor. The game, which is currently in early access, offers a blend of player versus environment (PVE) and player versus player (PVP) elements, making it a gripping and challenging experience for VR enthusiasts. Ghosts of Tabor is available for various VR platforms, including PC VR, Quest 2, PICO, PSVR2, and Steam.
The new Patch Notes version 0.5.7.3813.18711 went live on October 24, 2023, and included new features, bug fixes, and hotfixes.
New Features Enhance Gameplay
New Playable Map: Players can now explore the intriguing “Matka Miest” map, expanding the game’s selection of maps.
Taran Tactical DLC: A new downloadable content (DLC) package from Taran Tactical provides players with exciting new content.
Bleeding Mechanics: The introduction of bleeding mechanics adds a new layer of realism to the gameplay, making injuries more impactful.
Bandages and Ammo Pouch: Players can now use bandages to heal wounds and carry extra ammunition with the newly added ammo pouch.
Grab Guns from Players: The ability to take firearms from other players adds an interesting dimension to encounters in the game.
New Bolt Action Rifles: The Mosin and M190A3 bolt-action rifles expand the arsenal for players to choose from.
Insurance System: Players can now protect their valuable in-game items using the insurance system.
Weight System: The weight system adds realism to inventory management, requiring players to consider the weight of their equipment.
Bug fixes, Map improvements and Hotfix
The new patch notes also come with map improvements for Island of Tabor, Silo, and Safe House maps as well as numerous bug fixes, most notable of which are the fixes related to client crashes.

The early access version of Ghost of Tabor was launched on March 21, 2023. Only two months later, the game has reached more than 100k downloads, and currently, it has a steady player base of around 300 Average players per month with peaks of up to 700 players and more, which are good numbers of early access VR games.
