VRMonkey’s bee-themed VR tower defense game Honey Pot has officially launched in full today, September 17, following its Early Access period on the Meta Quest Store. The title combines free-flight traversal, tower defense strategy and hands-on archery combat, letting players defend their hive alone or in four-player co-op.
Set against a wave-based invasion of honey-seeking bears, Honey Pot puts players in control of warrior bees responsible for protecting their colony. Rather than observing from a fixed viewpoint, players can fly freely around each arena, collect resources, build defensive structures and personally join the fight with a bow and arrow.
Aerial tower defense action
Honey Pot aims to add a more active VR twist to the traditional tower defense formula. Players are not limited to placing towers and waiting for enemies to approach; they can move around the battlefield in the air, respond to threats from different angles and use archery to slow down the attacking bears.
The game supports both individual play and cooperative matches for up to four players. In co-op, teams of bee defenders can divide responsibilities between gathering resources, constructing defenses and targeting enemies directly.
Key features include:
- Solo gameplay and online co-op for up to four players.
- Free-flight movement across tower defense battlefields.
- Real-time base defense against incoming bear waves.
- Bow-and-arrow combat designed for immersive VR interaction.
- A campaign with unlockable towers and collectible trophies.
- Bee skins, outfits, cosmetics and seasonal customization options.
- A Hive Lobby with minigames, social areas and a photo studio.

From Early Access to full launch
VRMonkey says Honey Pot has been shaped through ongoing updates and player feedback since it entered Early Access. The studio has added cosmetic content, minigames and additional social activities as part of that development process.
Ahead of the full release, the game accumulated a 5-star rating from more than 90 Meta Quest Store reviews and received a Top Rated designation on the platform, according to VRMonkey. Honey Pot also drew recognition during development: it was a finalist for Best XR/VR at Gamescom Latam 2025 and was included in Tokyo Game Show 2024’s Selected Indie 80 lineup.

Available now on Meta Quest
Honey Pot is available exclusively through the Meta Store for Meta Quest headsets.
The release marks the latest VR project from São Paulo-based developer VRMonkey, the studio behind titles including Galaxy Kart and Sky Climb. With Honey Pot, the team is leaning into a lighthearted but strategic multiplayer premise: protect the hive, coordinate with fellow bees and prevent the bears from reaching the honey.
