What INWIGO Is All About

INWIGO is a cooperative VR horror‑extraction game where you and up to three friends play as children exploring haunted mansions and creepy carnival grounds in first person. Every run is a tense mix of exploration and survival: you search for fragile, emotion‑soaked “thanifacts,” unlock new gameplay mechanics, and try to escape before the manor’s supernatural residents claim you.

Each enemy brings a different kind of dread—some stalk when you’re alone, others only move when you turn your back, and some twist the house itself against you. Because treasures shift and hauntings adapt between sessions, no two ghost stories play out the same way, and failure means losing everything you managed to carry out.

Major Gameplay Changes in v0.3

The v0.3 build pushes INWIGO forward with systems‑level changes that make each run more tactical and more punishing in the best way:

  • New and updated enemies
A returning spider‑like “Scrapling Crawler” once again hunts players through the house, locking onto sprinting targets and attacking in packs. Other key foes, like the Harvester witch and Witch Hunter, receive animation and behavioral overhauls so encounters feel more intentional and less janky.
  • Resurrection statues replace old revives
The previous Scales of Anubis revive mechanic is retired in favor of a hidden Resurrection Room in the crypt. Fallen players leave behind soul orbs that can be carried to statues; each statue revives one friend and then becomes inert, turning every save into a high‑stakes decision for the squad.
  • A fully redesigned in‑game watch
Your wristwatch now has distinct faces for lobby and house modes, shows a beating heart that spikes with fear, warns when you’re close to attracting enemies, and confirms when you’re properly hidden. It reacts to death with a “ghost mode” state and handles things like low‑health alerts and friend invites directly on your wrist, making it a central piece of the HUD fantasy.
  • Better hands, throwing, and climbing
Throw physics have been rebuilt so items fly where you actually aim rather than storing phantom force or rocketing off unpredictably. Hand drifting and climbing feel more solid, and idle hand animations are cleaned up to reduce immersion‑breaking glitches.
  • Carnival mini‑games reworked
Whack‑A‑Mole and the shooting gallery both now use level‑based progression, clearer scoring, audio feedback, and proper resets. That turns the carnival from a loose side activity into a more structured way to chase high scores with friends between haunts.
INWIGO v0.3 new key features

Multiplayer, Matchmaking, and Performance

Beyond the headline features, v0.3 quietly fixes a lot of things players have been yelling about:

  • Multiplayer flow and party stability
Issues like players respawning in the wrong area after matches, reconnecting back into finished runs instead of lobbies, or getting stuck on “Match found! Connecting…” are addressed. Friend requests now surface in a notification list with accept/decline buttons and filters, making it easier to manage parties.
  • Shop and cosmetics overhaul
The in‑game store’s layout and backend have been reorganized to align more cleanly with the cosmetic catalog and support rotating stock. Gold items display properly on mannequins, set dropdowns only show owned costumes, and new space‑themed outfits (Alien, Space Princess, Space Pirate) and explorer gear expand the dress‑up options for your tiny ghost hunters.
  • House polish and collision fixes
From braziers getting proper fire effects to crypt integration outside the mansion, updated hallway textures, fixed secret rooms, more reliable hiding spots, and corrected collisions on furniture, tunnels, and props, the manor itself feels less buggy and more like a deliberate horror space.
  • Optimized lobby performance
UI and rendering work nearly doubles frame rates on heavy areas like the lobby shop wall, with distance culling and cosmetic optimizations to keep things smooth while you browse your next outfit.
INWIGO v0.3 VR free to play Meta Quest

Free‑to‑Play and What’s Coming Next

INWIGO remains free‑to‑play on Meta Quest, making this sizeable v0.3 update an easy reason to jump back in or try it for the first time. The team is already teasing more to come, including a Questbook system for daily and weekly in‑game missions, new enemies like a “red light, green light” ballerina, and additional space‑themed accessories and wristbands.
