Jolly Match 3 MR Overhauls Its First 1,000 Levels With New Blockers and Puzzle Mechanics

Jolly Match 3 MR has refreshed the opening stretch of its mixed-reality match-three adventure, redesigning its first 1,000 levels and adding several new interactive blockers for players to master.

Jolly Match 3 MR is sending players back to the start with a substantial overhaul of its early-game experience. Released on August 28, the update rebuilds the first 1,000 levels with redesigned layouts, updated objectives, fresh puzzle scenarios, and new gameplay-element combinations.

Instead of focusing only on adding stages beyond the existing level cap, the developers have revisited the game’s original progression. The changes are designed to give new Meta Quest players a different introduction to the game while offering experienced users a reason to revisit familiar level numbers through a new profile.

A Different Path Through Early Levels

The redesigned levels do more than introduce visual alterations. Each board has been adjusted to change the way challenges develop, requiring players to reconsider the strategies they may have used before.

Some stages place greater emphasis on producing powerful booster combinations, while others demand careful planning around objective priorities and the sequence in which obstacles are removed. As a result, returning players should not expect a level they previously cleared to play in the same way.

The revised opening progression aims to create more variety from the beginning, with puzzle goals and board interactions evolving as players move through the first 1,000 stages.

Jolly Match 3 MR added new blockers

New Blockers Add Fresh Challenges

The update also introduces entirely new blockers, each with distinct behavior and mechanics that can affect how players approach a board. Some are obstacles to eliminate, while others can create useful effects once their requirements are met.

Among the newly introduced blockers are:

  • Jelly Cats: Cats are concealed inside jelly tiles. Players can reveal them by making matches next to the jelly or striking it with boosters. Once every cat has been found, any remaining jelly on the board is automatically cleared.
  • Soda Can Launcher: This blocker is activated by feeding it four color matches. Once ready, it launches four bombs toward obstacles positioned around the board.
  • Surprise Egg: Players must make three adjacent matches to remove the egg and discover what it contains.
  • Bunny House: Clearing the house requires five matches next to it. Once opened, it releases three bunnies, which must then be guided down to the bottom of the board to be collected.
  • Cannon: Making three matches beside the Cannon generates the pink pieces it needs. After the necessary number has been created, the Cannon closes. While generating pieces, however, it can also strike nearby coils and change their state, adding another layer of board interaction.

The new blockers are intended to introduce additional rules, reactions, and strategic possibilities. Players will need to learn when to target them directly, when to use boosters, and how to turn their effects into an advantage.

Existing Progress Remains Safe

Players who have already advanced beyond the newly redesigned stages will not lose their progress or be required to restart. They can continue from their current position as normal.

However, those interested in trying the updated progression can do so by using a separate user profile on their Meta Quest headset. This allows returning players to begin again from Level 1 without affecting the saved progress attached to their primary profile.

That option gives longtime players a way to compare the original early-game journey with the redesigned experience now awaiting newcomers.

Jolly Match 3 MR is available for Meta Quest headsets, bringing match-three puzzle gameplay into players’ real-world spaces through mixed reality.
