Martin Rumenov VR studio TREBUCHET has released a major new add-on for Prison Boss Prohibition, the follow-up to cult favourite Prison Boss VR. The Grind and Shine DLC is available now on Meta Quest and SteamVR for 4.99 dollars, though players should check regional pricing in their local storefronts. The update introduces a fresh district to work in, an arsenal of new crafting tools, and a deep catalogue of high‑value goods to produce — all while staying one step ahead of the law.
Grind and Shine takes players out of the familiar streets of New Yolk City and into Scrambleton, a rough‑and‑ready 1930s rail town where heavy industry collides with shady side hustles. Here, you’re working for The Eggsploiters, a cabal of affluent mine owners and ruthless businessmen who now bankroll your latest bootlegging operation. To keep them happy, you’ll master new workstations like the anvil, forge oven and grindstone, turning raw materials into gold bars, gemstones, rings, watches and other forged luxury items for the city’s competing factions.
The DLC supports both solo play and online co-op for up to three additional partners, letting crews coordinate their illegal production lines together. As before, you’ll juggle crafting, inventory management and risk, hiding contraband from patrolling officers and reacting quickly when police attention gets too hot. New “dodgy goods” broaden the black‑market menu, including bracelets, knives, wrenches and razors, all of which can be used to bolster your reputation and bank balance in Scrambleton.

TREBUCHET is planning further content throughout the year, including a Custom Game Mode and a Sandbox option aimed at players who want more flexibility in how they build their criminal empires. On Quest, a Season Pass priced at 7.99 dollars has been available since December, bundling the Grind and Shine DLC with additional cosmetic packs for a discounted price over buying everything separately. Recent updates have also layered in extra flavour and comfort tweaks, such as the ability to lob cash bribes at cops, refreshed police character models, and new joystick locomotion options with adjustable movement and rotation speeds.
Prison Boss Prohibition itself builds on the contraband‑crafting formula of Prison Boss VR, swapping the prison cell for street‑side stalls and expanding into a full black‑market economy across New Yolk City. Players can run operations alone or collaborate online with up to three allies, earning money to unlock upgrades, enhancements and cosmetic items while dodging ever‑watchful police patrols. TREBUCHET, founded in 2017 and based in Canada, is known for VR projects like Broken Edge, Winds and Leaves and the original Prison Boss VR, with Prison Boss Prohibition currently available on both Meta Quest and Steam.
Supporting the launch is Creature, a VR‑focused studio and label founded in 2023 that works on titles such as THRASHER, Laser Dance, Cubism, Budget Cuts and The Light Brigade. Creature combines its own development efforts with business development services to help independent VR teams bring innovative projects to market in an increasingly competitive space.
