Swedish game developer Resolution Games has announced that their highly anticipated mixed reality (MR) first-person shooter, Spatial Ops, will be released on November 14, 2024. The game will be available on Meta Quest devices, including the new Quest 3S, and PICO headsets.
A New Era of Immersive Gaming
Spatial Ops aims to revolutionize the FPS genre by seamlessly blending the real and digital worlds. Tommy Palm, CEO of Resolution Games, describes it as “a leap forward in how we enjoy immersive entertainment in our homes.” The game allows players to use their bodies as controllers, transforming their surroundings into an interactive gaming environment.
Game Modes and Features
Spatial Ops offers two primary modes:
- Arena Mode: A laser tag-like experience that can transform an entire floor of a player’s home into a multiplayer battleground.
- Campaign Mode: Players defend against waves of enemies spawning from portals around them.
The Arena mode includes various sub-modes such as Free-for-All, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and Domination. These modes can be played across customizable arenas, emphasizing both competition and teamwork.

Accessibility and Social Engagement
Resolution Games has designed Spatial Ops to be accessible to players of all skill levels. The game focuses on creating a social experience, making it ideal for friends and families to enjoy together. This approach aligns with the company’s mission to create virtual games that have real impacts on real people by connecting players worldwide.
