Martin Rumenov Resolution Games has expanded the retro arcade lineup in Retrocade with the arrival of Qix, Taito’s territory-capturing classic originally released in 1981. The new addition brings the Apple Arcade collection to 14 arcade games, offering another high-score-focused experience across Apple devices.
Qix Joins Retrocade
Qix challenges players to take control of a Marker and draw lines across the game board to section off parts of the playfield. The aim is to claim at least 75% of the available space while avoiding two persistent dangers: the erratic Qix moving through open territory and the Sparx that travel along the board’s perimeter.
Its simple concept becomes increasingly demanding as players try to make larger captures without leaving themselves exposed. That risk-versus-reward structure helped Qix stand apart from many of its early-1980s arcade contemporaries, and it remains well suited to quick sessions built around beating personal scores and climbing leaderboards.
A Growing Apple Arcade Lineup
Retrocade is available through Apple Arcade on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and Apple Vision Pro. Resolution Games has designed the hub around accessible arcade sessions, while also adding global leaderboards, achievement unlocks and support for playing across Apple’s ecosystem.
With Qix now included, Retrocade’s current selection features 14 classic games:

- Galaga
- Haunted Castle
- Pac-Man

- Space Invaders
- Tempest
- Tetris

Tetris is the one exception for mobile users, as it is not available within Retrocade on iPhone or iPad.
Classic Arcade Games in One Place
The collection covers several defining arcade genres, from fixed shooters such as Space Invaders and Galaga to maze challenges like Pac-Man, action-platforming in Haunted Castle, and score-chasing sports events in Track & Field. Qix adds a different kind of pressure to the mix, focusing less on direct combat and more on careful movement, positioning and territory control.
For players who enjoy classic arcade design but want modern conveniences such as achievements and online score comparisons, Retrocade continues to build a broader catalogue of recognizable games in a single Apple Arcade destination.
