Sol Protocol, a cooperative VR space adventure from Epyka developer Singular Perception, launched in early access for Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S on September 19, 2026. A PC VR release on Steam is planned for October.
A spaceship built for teamwork
Up to three players crew a single ship as they travel through dangerous, procedurally generated star systems. They can switch between piloting through hazards, operating turrets, and managing systems such as shields. Survival depends on coordinating those jobs while deciding when to fight, gather resources, repair the ship—or warp away.
The game leans into VR’s hands-on possibilities. Players grab controls to steer, interact with ship terminals, and physically repair damaged components. Solo and duo crews can use Automas to fill empty roles on the current three-person ship, while a dedicated solo ship is among the features planned for a future update.

Progression beyond one run
Singular Perception’s Early Access roadmap sets out a broader galaxy-based progression system. Moving to a new galaxy is planned to bring better loot and weapons, tougher enemies, and more complex dungeons. The developer also wants to refine how procedural loot and enemies are generated so each run has a stronger sense of progression.
Other planned systems include a currency for upgrades during a run and a persistent currency for progression between runs. Players would be able to scrap unwanted loot for currency, take on short sector contracts and daily challenges, and eventually compare their crews on global leaderboards.

More ways to manage the ship
The roadmap proposes an overhaul of ship repairs, including external hull damage that reduces maximum health until it is fixed. A redesigned repair sphere, a crafting station, and a teleport station for bringing loot aboard more quickly are also planned.
Crews could eventually use a scanner to find points of interest, learn about enemies, and locate dungeon loot. Warp jumps would require managing fuel reserves, while 3D hologram interfaces are intended to replace the current 2D energy-management and inventory panels. These are roadmap plans, not features being presented as available at launch.

New threats and discoveries
Future combat additions include enemy types with new behaviours and weaknesses, rare boss fights with unique loot, and a wider selection of ship weapons. Exploration plans range from hazardous phenomena—such as pulsars, wormholes, and dying stars—to shipwrecks, space stations, and more varied dungeons.
The studio also intends to introduce friendly merchants and quest givers, along with lore fragments that reveal more about the game’s setting. On the lighter side of ship life, the roadmap lists unlockable character and ship skins, private crew cabins that players can decorate with discovered loot, and a jukebox. Singular Perception says it will expand its community-requests section as it gathers Early Access feedback.
Sol Protocol is available on the Meta Quest Store and has a Steam page ahead of its planned PC VR release. The announced Early Access price is $11.99.
