Martin Rumenov Resolution Games has rolled out the Blueprint Combat Update for its mixed reality shooter Spatial Ops, introducing major enhancements to the game’s Arena Mode and empowering both players and creators with next-level customization tools. The update, available now as a free download for Meta Quest devices via the Meta Horizon Store, expands gameplay possibilities with new creative systems, competitive balance features, and a co-op survival mode.
According to Mathieu Castelli, Chief Creative Officer at Resolution Games, the update aims to make Spatial Ops “a living workshop” where players can continuously experiment, collaborate, and customize their experience.
Map Editing and New Creation Features
At the core of the update is a completely overhauled map editing system. Players hosting matches can now modify arenas in real time while everyone in the lobby watches the changes unfold instantly. Essential tools like Undo/Redo simplify design iteration, while new building components bring tactical depth — from text overlays and damaging hazard zones to floating barriers that break traditional ground constraints.
In addition, Spatial Ops now supports an online map library where users can browse, share, and save custom maps. The update also improves quickplay functionality and introduces new base templates for faster map creation.
For players looking to expand their creative arsenal, a new “Corrupted Technology Theme” DLC is available for $2.99, delivering a high-tech prop set that enhances the game’s aesthetic options.
Custom Rulesets for Personalized Combat
The Blueprint Combat Update also introduces custom rulesets, allowing hosts to fine-tune the gameplay experience. Rules can now be saved on a per-map basis, enabling creators to define persistent modes when maps are shared. Options include adjusting bot difficulty, toggling friendly fire, managing weapon behavior, refining armor visuals, and adding the holster system to arena matches.
This system opens the door for diverse playstyles, from competitive formats to casual sandbox fun.
New Co-op Survival Mode and Gameplay Enhancements
The update debuts Co-op Survival Mode, a new team-based experience focused on battling waves of enemies alongside friends. Builders can take advantage of the new Enemy Spawner tool to design tailored encounter patterns and pacing.
To shake up tactical play, a new Flashbang weapon joins the arsenal, complementing the refreshed visuals and performance optimizations that make firefights smoother and more responsive.
