Puddle, the studio helmed by Brian Gibson (of Thumper fame) and Mike Mandel (known for Rock Band VR and Fantasia: Music Evolved), has officially confirmed that its award-winning cosmic rhythm-action game THRASHER will make its long-awaited debut on Steam on November 7, 2025. Previously available only on Meta Quest and Apple Vision Pro, the title now comes to PC with both flatscreen and VR support, alongside full Steam Deck optimization.
A new evolution for the cosmic racer
THRASHER, described by its creators as a “mind-melting arcade odyssey,” was crowned Apple’s 2024 Vision Pro Game of the Year. The game invites players to guide a majestic space eel through surreal alien environments in a visually explosive race for survival. Every twist and thrash contributes to a rhythm-infused flow state where music, visuals, and motion fuse into one transcendent audiovisual experience.

The Steam edition details
The upcoming PC release includes substantial upgrades and new play options. The entire campaign spans 27 levels across nine distinct worlds, with new “Play+” and “Time Trial” modes introduced for the Steam launch. On the technical side, the game is optimized for 90fps performance on Steam Deck, with full mouse, gamepad, and VR control support. Players can use motion gestures or even hand tracking in PCVR mode for heightened immersion.
Reimagined beyond VR

While the original THRASHER showcased intuitive hand gestures through the Apple Vision Pro, the 2D Steam edition reworks its controls for traditional platforms without sacrificing its hypnotic essence. It introduces a new dash mechanic and visually upgraded environments that take advantage of PC hardware. The result is an experience that stays faithful to the original’s rhythm-infused intensity while opening up to a wider audience of PC and SteamVR players.
For players chasing perfection
Beyond its stunning alien vistas, THRASHER thrives on precision and mastery. Its unique combo system centers on drawing circular motions with your space eel, rewarding finesse and accuracy. Competitive players will be able to showcase their skill through global leaderboards and Steam achievements.
THRASHER launches on November 7, 2025, for Steam, SteamVR, and Steam Deck, marking the next chapter in Puddle’s evolution of psychedelic rhythm-based gameplay.
