The event, recognized as Europe’s premier XR hackathon, saw the team develop their winning prototype in just 48 hours.
Europe’s XR Community Gathers in Berlin
From June 25 to 29, Berlin hosted over 250 top XR developers, handpicked from more than 1,500 applicants worldwide. Organized by Immersive Insiders and backed by leading companies including Meta, CUPRA, PUMA Group, STRAUSS, and Logitech, the hackathon challenged participants to build innovative XR prototypes over four days.
10 Bucks Games: Ambition and Achievement
The 10 Bucks Games team—Jakub Burdajewicz and Maciej Kawiński (Curious Games), alongside Michał Odziemczyk (PixelGlaze)—distinguished themselves by entering two competition tracks at once, dedicating 48 hours to each. Their efforts paid off with a win in the highly competitive Meta Mixed Reality Track.
“We knew it was ambitious, maybe even a little crazy,” said Jakub Burdajewicz. “But we wanted to show that a small team could create not just a playable prototype, but also polished assets, a compelling presentation, and a trailer in just 48 hours.”
Tumbles: A Fast-Paced Mixed Reality Platformer
Tumbles wowed judges with its precise gameplay, unified visual style, and energetic trailer. Drawing inspiration from titles like Lemmings, Fall Guys, Crash Bandicoot, and Ori and the Blind Forest, the game tasks players with guiding a group of charming creatures through a whimsical, hazard-filled world—delivered in a quick, accessible format designed for Mixed Reality.
Looking Ahead: From Prototype to Production
Securing the Meta award is just the beginning for 10 Bucks Games. The team is now moving Tumbles into full development, seeking investors and publishing partners to bring the game to a broader audience.
“We see Tumbles as a potential cross-platform IP—across Mixed Reality, Virtual Reality, mobile, PC, and consoles,” Burdajewicz shared. “The hackathon was just the start.”
